Responsibilities:
As an Application Developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments.
Utilize mature (3rd or 4th Generation) programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution.
Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with
Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps.
Adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/Enhance software application modules.
Read and understand business requirements, write functional requirements, develop detailed technical designs, and build / unit / system test application code.
Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications; identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues; and review and provide feedback to the final user documentation.
Support the changes/applications post implementation by debugging, fixing, and participating in maintenance releases as prescribed by management

Qualifications
Basic
Qualifications:
5
years experience with mainframe based applications built with CICS, COBOL and JCL required
5
years experience with mainframe based applications built with IMS, DB2, VSAM, and MQ Series preferred
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in mainframe programming
Preferred Skills:
Experience with an online system with high availability credit card auth system, high throughput and quick response times is preferred
Functional experience with change management, implementation planning and release management
Experience in code management and versioning methodologies with experience with a leading code management
Financial industry experience and credit card or payment systems experience in large scale/high volume industry is preferred
Good oral and written communication skills
Must work well either independently or as part of a team with a strong desire to excel
Experience with developing and managing interfaces with various Credit card associations preferred.
Good business knowledge of end to end Credit Card Authorizations processing preferred
