Scope of Position
Perform outreach to customers at time of referral to engage them in the program. Provide support and assistance to program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
Essential Functions
Perform outreach via telephone, letters and home visits to engage customers at the time of referral.
Complete outreach form on each customer at time of referral.
Update Orientation list to verify customer confirmation or decision not to participate in program.
Contact customers who lack required hours of participation to ensure they meet requirements.
Communicate with Case Managers when issues arise with customers.
Provide individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities.
Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with participants to aid in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment.
Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment.
Oversee participant activities and assist with workshop schedules.
Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed.
Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts.
Create solutions to participant attendance problems.
Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up.
Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies.
Maintain participant files as specified by contractor.
Ensure participants follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agency.
Help to ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract.
Required
Experience:
Career counseling experience.
Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts.
Organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities.
Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require.
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling or human resources.
Customer service experience.
Knowledge of MS Office programs.
