Wilmington, DE 19803 7319 Client Experimental Station, Wilmington DE has a need for an Occupational Health Medical Assistant who can work with the medical team to provide care.
This position may require some travel to regional sites.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to Provide medical care/first aid within the scope of your clinic certification under the supervision of a clinician.
Assist providers in exam rooms Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and document all information in patient's chart Maintain medical records in accordance with established guidelines.
Perform medical screenings such as drug and alcohol, vision, blood pressure, audiograms, respirator and pulmonary function tests.
Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/business calls Triage and process messages from patients to the clinician Maintain all logs and required checks (i.
e.
refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.
) All other duties as assigned by site clinicians Maintain clinic inventory, safety checks, and waste management Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
Communicate with employees, line management and health care providers on health and fitness-for-duty issues.
Responsible for assuring the appropriate access and utilization of healthcare services Implement wellness and prevention programs Coordinate activities with Occupational Health, Safety, and Human Resources.
Maintain current knowledge of local hazards, toxicity of materials and relevant emergency medical care.
Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certification Basic understanding of federal and state regulations applicable to occupational and environmental health and safety.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Experience in effectively collaborating, within guidelines, to balance the needs of the employee and business Experience with emergency response and hazardous materials BLS certification Prefer certifications in BAT, respirator testing and audiometric testing Phlebotomy experience preferred Demonstrated ability to write reports and correspondence clearly Experience in maintaining appropriate medical records in compliance with company policies and external regulations (e.
g.
, OSHA) Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Demonstrated ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge and experience with computers applications to conduct various tests and to maintain appropriate records.
