Dialysis Registered Nurse

Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Hemodialysis team in Wilmington, DE!The hemodialysis unit at Nemours has 6 patient stations.
The dialysis nurse will provide hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services to both inpatients and outpatients with CKD, ESRD and AKI.
Additional populations include FSGS patients requiring LDL apheresis.
Current full-time, 72-hour biweekly, day shift position available.
On-call and Saturday rotation required.
Candidate must be able to reach the hospital with-in one hour when on-call.
Position
Responsibilities:
Provides all aspects of nursing care before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
Establishes a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
Educates patient and family/caregiver regarding disease process and individual care needs.
Identifies and participates in performance improvement activities.
Participates in the outpatient peritoneal dialysis program by providing education/training the patient and family/caregiver on how to perform and manage peritoneal dialysis at home.
Must be able to perform in-home assessments for home dialysis patients.
Monitors water treatments systems and water quality in accordance with AAMI standards.
Responsible to provide additional extracorporeal therapies, such as apheresis, when unit census allows.
Position Requirements:
BSN preferred, must obtain within 3 years of hire.
Active Delaware, or compact state, Registered Nurse License required.
Current AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
Certified Nephrology Nurse or Certified Dialysis Nurse preferred.
One year of pediatric experience and/or two years dialysis experience preferred.
