The candidate types, formats, and edits documents. Transcribes dictation; proofreads copy for spelling, grammar, and content; and makes appropriate changes. Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information. Creates, manages, and maintains electronic and hardcopy files. Opens and closes new matters including conflicts checks. Gathers and retrieves information from files when needed. Maintains attorney calendar; plans and schedules conferences, teleconferences, and travel; and records and monitors deadlines. Arranges for conference rooms when necessary. Provides administrative support (copy, scanning, faxing, etc.). Answers telephone, greets clients, respond to and assist clients, providing information and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution. Record attorney time, review, process, and finalize bills. Handle all other administrative duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
