The Trademark Paralegal will directly report to the Trademark Counsel. The Paralegal will be responsible for a part of the organisation's trademark portfolio working closely with other members of the Intellectual Property department and in particular with the trademark team and functional experts throughout the company, e.g. product management, marketing, engineering, sales, to deliver immediate business support through legal advice.
A key element of success for this role will be the ability to set priorities. Diligence, consistency and accurateness are required when advising on new names, possible risks, filing and prosecuting new names, docket the data and maintain trademark rights throughout the world. Your best communication skills will help you to find out about and understand the business' needs and provide the relevant advice and support.
At least 5 years of experience working with a global trademark portfolio preferred. The position primarily involves the following
Responsibilities:
Working with colleagues on the trademark team in the company's Intellectual Property Department
Performing trademark availability searches/investigations using available on-line databases/services
Coordinating and managing global trademark applications, registrations and maintenance issues with internal business units and outside counsel. The candidate will also engage in trademark application preparation, filing and prosecution
Maintaining trademark and agreement docket/databases in collaboration with trademark team colleagues
Managing trademark enforcement matters including reviewing watch notices, drafting cease and desist letters and working on enforcement proceedings
Reviewing marketing and promotional materials for trademark related issues
Reviewing and processing service provider invoices in conjunction with various billing systems
Creating and maintaining internal trademark and other related office files

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
