The main responsibility of the Systems Engineer is defining, analyzing and developing solutions utilizing and integrating into the SevOne product set. The Systems Engineer works directly with clients to define uses of SevOne products, define detailed requirements and design, and build configuration and integrations to meet customer needs. The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that their assigned projects are developed to plan and the timescales agreed. They are also responsible for proactively identifying and communicating any issue that arises through the project, and regularly communicating progress to client and management.
Coaching & mentoring in the operation of SevOne products and utilities
Providing guidance and assistance in installation & configuration of SevOne integrations
Trouble-shooting configuration issues associated with the integration of SevOne products into an advanced solution
Providing support in the development of integration test cases, and guidance in the execution of the tests.
Providing assistance in developing configurations appropriate to supporting partner products, including devices and/or EMS's.
Accurately capturing and defining requirements and relaying these to SevOne Product Management, and then interacting closely with SevOne Development to ensure that deliverables are provided to a partner in a timely fashion.
Work on-site or remotely in customer environments in collaboration with non-SevOne personnel
Bachelor's degree in computer related subject or able to demonstrate equivalent work experience
Strong Linux and Unix, including shell, experience required
Scripting experience required in at least one of PHP, Perl, JavaScript, Python
Networking & Internetworking experience as operator, engineer, or tools integrator
RDBMS (preferably MySQL) experience is highly desired
Experience administering and integrating network management systems is highly desired.
Strong Troubleshooting Skills
The ability to pick up new technologies quickly
Experience of full software development lifecycle (from analysis through development, test, delivery, in-service, disposal) is desirable
