Job Description:
The Risk VP is responsible for managing the P&L forecasting processes and financial controls for Portfolio Risk Strategies in Card Services, which includes Balance Transfer (BT), Credit Line Increase (CLI) and Credit Line Decrease (CLD) programs.
You will launch a new process in conjunction with Finance and Marketing to execute complex analytic projects in support of program investment decisioning as well as the formal forecasting and tracking of performance and P&L impact of BT, CLI, and CLD programs. The results of this work will ensure that the business is making decisions and investments that optimize both profitable growth of receivables and the customer experience. The analytics and controls developed must demonstrate the appropriate rigor and transparency to drive the business discussions required as part of managing these key existing account strategies.
The qualified candidate must have the ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders in Risk, Finance, and Marketing and execute upon subject matter expertise across multiple Portfolio Risk disciplines. The candidate also needs to deliver clear and effective analytic results to senior management.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline; Math, Finance, Statistics, Economics or equivalent work/training is required; advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of related analytical experience.
Strong analytical, technical and statistical skills are must. Ability to synthesize / analyze diverse information, develop and recommend strategies, and make decisions.
Strong knowledge of the Card Services P&L.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with individuals across departments and functions. Ability to work independently. Ability to influence others.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Ability to achieve tight timelines on complex deliverables.
Strong knowledge of SAS, SQL, Excel and other analytic tools required.
Strong knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred.
