Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and supervising activities in the Area Office to implement the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Conducts active liaison with local officials representing Federal, State industry and employee organizations as the primary representative of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the area. Supervises the technical and administrative activities and provides guidance to a staff of professional and support personnel. Determines seriousness of violations, types of citations, amount of proposed penalties, and abatement periods that may result from inspection. Conducts first level reviews, conferences with employers and makes final judgement for modifying citations and penalties, and hears petitions for modification of abatement. Encourages voluntary compliance by providing assistance, information and consultation/guidance to employers and employees. Plans, executes and evaluates the technical training of compliance officers. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service. In order to meet the specialized experience requirements for this position, the candidate must have experience in:
Managing safety or occupational health enforcement/compliance program elements. - Developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management. - Expert knowledge of the safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve highly technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements. - Development of safety and occupational health standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards. - Development or implementation of programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses. - Analysis or evaluation of new and existing jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards. - Design or modification of workplaces, processes, products, or other systems to control or eliminate hazards. - Inspecting or surveying workplaces, processes, products, or other systems, for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards. - Training of workers, supervisors, managers, or other safety and occupational health personnel in safety and occupational health subjects - Experience in specific occupational fields such as industrial hygienist, safety engineer, fire prevention engineer, health physicist, and safety specialist Supervisory Qualification Requirements:

Ability to communicate with others effectively both orally and in writing in working out solutions to problems or questions relating to the work. 5. Ability to understand and further management goals as these affect day-to-day work operations. 6. Ability to develop improvements in or design new work methods and procedures. Education:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
