SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The HR Data Analyst provides consultation, facilitation, technical and functional expertise on HR business operations, offerings, initiatives and programs; resulting in routine and non-routine resolution strategies, corrective actions, planning, explanation and clarification of Amtrak s HR policies and processes. This position is responsible for responding to inquiries, maintenance of organizational structure, and records management. This position is also responsible for creating, updating and maintaining employee related and organizational structure data in SAP HR system. This position ensures timely and accurate service delivery for complex HR operational and organizational activities.


Essential Functions:

Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to anticipate and provide solutions and guidance to resolve business workforce needs.
Provide subject matter expertise regarding data and organizational maintenance, HR personnel requests.
Responds to questions and inquiries from employees, managers, or delegates on procedures and practices via multiple channels (e.g., e-mail or phone).

- Ensures high-quality standards for all activities, initiatives, and tasks within the designated functional area(s) of responsibility.
- Portrays a positive, professional, customer and delivery orientated image of the company.
- Provides continuous status updates, guidance, and information to customers, key stakeholders, and colleagues within the HR function to ensure case resolution.


Process transactions, such as new hires, transfers, salary changes, terminations, progressions, etc.
Perform pre and post processing validation and auditing to ensure accuracy of submitted requests and system data updates.
Troubleshoots and resolve issues to ensure quality assurance and data integrity.
Leveraged to support the testing of human resources information systems, upgrades, and/or new functionality to validate usability and configuration accuracy.
Develops and maintains documentation of processes keeping all procedures current.
Anticipates roadblocks and take steps to remove them proactively.
Assist with additional job duties and projects as directed by leadership
Support other areas of HR as necessary.
Practical interpretation and application of employment law, federal, state and regulatory compliance related to I-9, records retention, Amtrak policies and respective collective bargaining agreements.

MINIMUM
Qualifications:

Bachelor s Degree required OR equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

PREFERRED
Qualifications:

years of relevant experience preferred
Extensive experience working with Microsoft Office suite
Experience with SAP HR systems, computer software or database experience
Some project management experience
Experience in an HR Shared Services environment
Strong knowledge of business process improvements

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
